About
About Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation (EBOO)
Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation (EBOO) is an advanced medical ozone therapy that can purify, oxygenate, and revitalize the body at a cellular level.
By circulating your blood outside the body through a specialized device, EBOO infuses it with medical-grade oxygen and ozone before safely returning it. This process helps detoxify several liters of blood in a single session—supporting immune function, improving oxygen metabolism, and targeting harmful pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
EBOO therapy enhances tissue oxygenation, reduces inflammation, and strengthens the body’s antioxidant defenses. Many patients report improved energy, reduced pain, and a profound sense of clarity and vitality making it a powerful tool for systemic wellness and recovery.
Our Approach
An Integrative Approach to EBOO
At Integrative, Ozone and Oxidative therapies are not provided alone. We build a safe and effective individualized treatment protocol using a variety of our treatment modalities alongside ozone and oxidative therapies, in order to enhance the health and functioning of each cell in your body.
Prior to developing a plan for you, we will guide you through one or more testing methods to determine if Ozone and Oxidative therapies may be a helpful addition to your plan.
If you have had CBC, CRP, CMP and G6PD tested within the last 3-months, we can possibly waive lab testing requirements. This will be determined by your Naturopathic Doctor during your Initial Consultation.
These tests could include:
- Applied Kinesiology
- Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD)
- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)
- Biomeridian Organ Scan
- Hormone Testing

How It Works
EBOO Therapy at Integrative
One

Complete Medical and Lifestyle History
Your EBOO therapy journey begins with an initial consultation with a healthcare professional experienced in oxidative and ozone therapies. During this visit, your practitioner will review your full health history, assess your current symptoms, and determine whether EBOO treatment aligns with your individual health goals or conditions. It’s also a chance to ask questions, learn what to expect, and explore how this advanced therapy may support your overall wellness.
Tip: To get the most out of your visit, write down your health goals and list any medications or supplements you're currently taking when completing your new patient consultation forms.
Two

Testing And Treatment Preparation
Before beginning EBOO therapy, your doctor may recommend pre-treatment testing to ensure the procedure is both safe and tailored to your individual needs. This often includes a G6PD enzyme test, performed at our on-site lab, to confirm that your body can safely undergo ozone therapy. Additional basic blood tests such as CBC, CRP, and CMP may also be reviewed to assess liver and kidney function, inflammation levels, and overall health.
If you’ve completed these tests within the last 3 to 6 months, further lab work may not be required. In some cases, your practitioner may recommend a toxic burden assessment or other diagnostic testing to better understand your health status and customize your EBOO treatment plan accordingly.
Three

Treatment Series
Based on your consultation and test results, your practitioner will develop a personalized EBOO therapy plan tailored to your specific health goals and medical needs. This plan will include the recommended number of EBOO sessions—typically 3 to 10—and a treatment schedule designed to maximize detoxification, improve outcomes, and support long-term wellness.
To ensure optimal blood flow and vein access, a supplement protocol is recommended prior to each EBOO session. Our Patient Care Coordinators will assist with appointment scheduling and provide detailed pre- and post-treatment guidelines.
To further enhance your results, your plan may include complementary therapies such as personalized nutrition, fasting strategies, or targeted supplements to support cellular regeneration and immune function.
Four

Treatment Experience
When you arrive for your EBOO session, your blood will be gently circulated through a specialized device that infuses it with oxygen and ozone before returning it to your body.
Each session lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes, during which you're welcome to read, listen to music or a podcast with headphones, or simply relax. Many patients report feeling refreshed and rejuvenated immediately after treatment, with the benefits building progressively over a series of sessions.
Five

Post-Treatment Care and Follow-Up
After your EBOO therapy session(s), your practitioner may recommend post-treatment care to help maximize detoxification and support recovery. This could include nutrition guidance to aid the body’s natural detox pathways, hydration strategies to promote efficient toxin elimination, and follow-up visits or repeat lab testing to track your progress and adjust your personalized treatment plan as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
View all FAQs
-
What are the side effects of EBOO?
Side effects will depend on your current health concerns. Your Doctor will review all potential side effects prior to your treatment session. -
How many EBOO treatments are typically required?
The response to treatment varies, depending on the overall health of the patient, severity and chronicity of health concerns, as well as the method of ozone or oxidative therapy utilized. Your Doctor can estimate how many treatments will be required based on your health concerns, as well as your response to an initial treatment. -
Can EBOO be combined with other therapies?
We tailor other complementary therapies to fit your specific health profile, ensuring that every aspect of your treatment is optimized for the best results. Consult with your healthcare provider to explore these tailored options and maximize your EBOO therapy benefits. -
What makes EBOO different from other Ozone therapies?
The main difference between EBOO and other ozone therapies is the volume of blood treated per session and the amount of ozone administered. The more blood that is oxygenated the better overall outcome. Energy improves, symptoms decrease, and performance is enhanced. Patients have also said that EBOO is tolerated better than a 10-pass treatment. -
Is EBOO covered by MSP or Extended Health Plans?
No, EBOO therapy is not typically covered by insurance providers. Your visit will be billed through our Lab, and cannot be billed as a visit with a Naturopathic Doctor. However, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly prior to your visit to determine your coverage. -
How much does EBOO cost?
The cost of EBOO will vary depending on dosage and number of treatment sessions a patient has. Our Patient Care Coordinators can provide a quote prior to booking your treatment session. -
Who cannot safely receive EBOO?
Patients with blood coagulation disorders, bleeding organs, thrombocytopenia (low platelets), hemorrhagic or apoplectic stroke, recent MI (heart attack), alcohol intoxication, G-6PD deficiency, uncontrolled hyperthyroidism, leukemia, first trimester pregnancy, photosensitivity, sulfa drugs, patients with allergies to heparin or other anticoagulants are not recommended candidates. -
Am I a candidate for EBOO?
Only a practitioner trained in EBOO can determine if it is applicable to your health concerns. Within your initial visit, your Doctor will review your medical history, including test results and imaging reports, and will order additional testing to determine if you are a good candidate for EBOO. -
How often can EBOO be administered?
Most people only require a few treatments, but some may require many more. Once you begin treatment, your Doctor will be able to monitor how you respond and provide a better estimate of how many treatments may be required. -
Is EBOO the same as dialysis?
No, it is not. The treatment does use the same dialyzer filters, but in a very different arrangement. EBOO also does not use dialysate fluid, like with dialysis therapy. -
What are the risks associated with EBOO?
EBOO therapy is widely regarded as safe, but some individuals may experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headaches, or dizziness. Although uncommon, there are instances where EBOO could potentially lead to more severe complications, including seizures and cardiovascular issues. -
How will I feel after my EBOO treatment?
The experience with EBOO therapy can vary widely from person to person. Immediately after treatment, you might feel energized and clear-minded, with noticeable pain relief. Others might feel a bit tired and sore, or you might not notice any change at all. The true power of EBOO lies in its long-term cellular benefits, which build gradually. Over time, you may see improvements in immune function, vascular health, tissue integrity, and reduced inflammation. These changes contribute to an overall enhancement of your well-being. -
What is "filtered" out of my blood with EBOO?
During your treatment, cellular by-products are captured in a collection cup. You might have encountered online claims suggesting these by-products contain heavy metals, microplastics, parasites, and more. However, ongoing research is required to definitively identify the makeup of these filtered by-products. The appearance and contents of the by-product in the cup can differ significantly from one patient to another and from one treatment session to the next. While we await more definitive scientific findings, our priority is to monitor and respond to how you react to the treatment. -
Do I need to complete testing to receive EBOO treatments?
Specific diagnostic tests are required prior to receiving the EBOO treatment. Testing requirements vary depending on current health conditions. At your initial visit, your Doctor will review diagnostic testing you have already completed, and determine further bloodwork or imaging they require. -
Do I need to see a Naturopathic Doctor to receive EBOO treatments?
Yes, you need to be a patient of one of our Naturopathic Doctors in order to receive EBOO treatments at Integrative.
