Snoring, Sleep Apnea, and a Simple Laser Solution: Free Webinar with Dr. Michelle Willis, ND
Wellness, HealthLearn why so many of us aren't sleeping well — and the gentle, drug-free treatment that's helping my patients get their nights (and their partners) back.
"I snore, but it doesn't bother me — just my partner."
I hear this all the time. And I understand why people say it. But here's the truth I want you to sit with for a moment: snoring is almost never just a partner problem. It's often the first audible sign that the airway is closing at night — and for a surprising number of people, that closing crosses the line into sleep apnea.
If you've ever woken up gasping, opened your eyes already tired after a full eight hours, reached for coffee just to function, or been elbowed awake (again) for snoring — this lecture is for you.
I'm hosting an evening dedicated to explaining, in plain language, exactly what happens to your body at night, why it matters far more than most people realize, and the simple, painless option I now use in my practice to help.
Why this isn't something to shrug off
Sleep apnea is common — and quietly serious. When your airway repeatedly closes at night, your oxygen drops, your heart rate and blood pressure spike, and your nervous system flips into stress mode over and over until morning. Night after night, that takes a toll.
The research is sobering. Untreated sleep apnea is linked to a meaningfully higher risk of stroke, heart attack, and early death, and to difficult-to-control high blood pressure. The good news — and the reason I'm so passionate about this topic — is that treating it may help reduce some of those risks.
That's the heart of this talk: this is a health issue, not a nuisance. And it's a solvable one.
What you'll learn at the lecture
In about an hour, I'll walk you through:
- What sleep apnea and snoring actually are — the surprisingly simple mechanics of airflow, the soft palate, and the tongue, explained so it finally makes sense.
- The warning signs and symptoms most people miss — from daytime fatigue and morning headaches to waking up to pee, feeling wired all day, and high blood pressure that won't budge.
- Who's most at risk — how it differs for men and women, what changes at menopause, and the role of age, genetics, and weight.
- Why the usual treatments frustrate so many people — the real reasons CPAP machines and oral appliances so often end up in a drawer.
- A newer option: NightLase® — a painless, no-downtime laser treatment I offer at our Fort Langley clinic, and why I've been so encouraged by what I'm seeing.
- What it costs — and how it compares to a lifetime of machines and supplies.
You'll leave understanding your own sleep in a completely new way — and knowing what your options are.
A quick word on NightLase®
NightLase® is a gentle Erbium laser treatment that works by tightening and rebuilding collagen in the soft palate — lifting it up and forward, off the back of the throat and away from the tongue, so air can flow freely again.
What draws people to it:
- Painless, with no downtime — you walk out and get on with your day.
- Quick — about a 30-minute appointment.
- No mask, no mouthpiece, no nightly device.
Published research has reported an average improvement of roughly 45% after one session and 68% after two, with the majority of patients seeing better than 50% improvement by their second treatment. In my own practice, I've been thrilled by the response I've seen in some of my patients — some have even noticed improvements in their REM and deep sleep on their sleep-tracking rings after just a couple of treatments. (Results vary from person to person, and I'll be honest at the lecture about who it helps most and who may need more sessions.)
Who should come
- Anyone who snores — or sleeps next to someone who does
- Anyone waking up unrested despite a full night's sleep
- Anyone who's tried CPAP and couldn't stick with it
- Anyone with high blood pressure, weight changes, or a family history of sleep apnea
- Anyone who simply wants to protect their long-term health and energy
Watch it together with your partner. Honestly, this talk is often as eye-opening for the person lying awake next to the snorer as it is for the snorer themselves.
