IV & Ozone Therapies

What is IV Therapy?

Intravenous (IV) therapy is the slow infusion of a liquid directly into the bloodstream through a vein.

Why IV Therapy?

IV therapy is one of the fastest and most efficient ways to deliver fluids and medications to your body.

When we take pills or other supplements orally, much is lost in the digestion process. By injecting nutrients intravenously, we can bypass the liver and digestive system to increase absorption and directly affect the tissues and cells of the body. We can also deliver a higher concentration of nutrients at a much faster rate.

Will it Hurt?

Besides the mild prick of the needle, IV therapies can be quite comfortable. You’ll have a chance to lay back, relax and think of your health (or anything else you want). In modern times, there are not many prescribed opportunities to relax and many of our patients look forward to their next treatment.

“Using nutrients intravenously is often the fastest way to benefit my patients because the desired dose is provided directly in an extremely bio-available form.”Dr. Katie Leah, N.D.

IV Therapies At Integrative

We use several different IV therapies to treat many different conditions, often in coordination with other treatments. The most common therapy we use is the IV Push, also called the Myers Cocktail.

The IV Push

In this common procedure, we slowly introduce a push of vitamins, minerals and homeopathic remedies into your blood stream to improve your body’s ability to recover and ward off infections.

Many chronic condition can respond well to the IV Push, including:

  • Migraines
  • Chronic infections and illnesses
  • Chronic allergic problems
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Depression
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Chronic asthma
  • Congestive heart failure and cardiovascular disease

Generally, we begin with injections once or twice a week for 10-15 minutes each session. Patients usually feel the effects by the fourth treatment. If your condition is chronic, you may want to continue with the injections weekly or monthly as directed by your doctor. Many patients resume regular IV treatment when they feel a decrease in energy or worsening of symptoms.

Mega C Vitamin Infusions

The principles of this therapy are the same as with the IV Push, but with a much larger dose of Vitamin C and other vitamins over a longer period of time – 1.5 to 3 meditative hours.

This extra dose of Vitamin C is incredibly effective at fighting off infections and ridding the body of toxins. It does this by:

  • Preventing the reproduction of viruses
  • Deactivating certain toxins
  • Helping the liver detoxify the blood stream
  • Assisting the biological activity of immune, nerve and bone cells

These effects help enhance a patient’s immune function and we often employ this treatment with cancer patients to improve their quality of life and protect against the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Ozone Therapy

As we age, our bodies become less efficient at transporting and using oxygen. This can impair thousands of vital chemical reactions necessary to remain healthy.

With ozone therapy, we use oxygen with a third molecule to it – known as ozone or 03 – as a therapeutic tool to:

  • Promote healing
  • Destroy pathogens
  • Fight bacteria and fungal infections
  • Improve your immune system
Chelation Therapy

For Cardiovascular Health

Chelation therapy is a safe, effective and non-invasive way to break down the plaque blocking your arterial walls. This will improve your cardiovascular system and enhance the blood flow to your organs.

By intravenously injecting vitamins, magnesium and the amino acid EDTA into your bloodstream, we can break down the calcium that forms the “glue” of arterial plaque and detoxify the blood of metals like lead, cadmium and aluminum.

Chelation therapy has also proven effective at dealing with diabetes, Alzheimer’s, cancer, lupus, arthritis and allergies.

For Heavy Metal Detoxification

Depending on your particular heavy metal exposure and total toxic burden IV chelation may be used to decrease your heavy metal load. Different chelators are selected based upon which heavy metals need to be excreted. The chelator basically acts like a claw grabbing these toxins and allowing them to be excreted by the body.

Ozone Therapy at Integrative

Oxygenation is critical to our health. Unfortunately, as we age, our bodies become less efficient at transporting and using oxygen. This can impair thousands of vital chemical reactions necessary to remain healthy. Additionally, stress, infections, toxicity, sleep deprivation, and poor nutrition deplete our ability to oxygenate our tissues. Ozone therapy stimulates oxygenation, improves energy production and metabolism, modulates our immune system, and acts as a direct anti-microbial agent. Through these processes, ozone can treat many conditions including:

  • Autoimmune Diseases
  • Chronic Infections
  • Skin Conditions
  • Immune Deficiency
  • Disorders
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Cystitis
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Ailments of aging

Ozone therapy can be administered through a variety of methods, such as:

Major Auto-Hemotherapy (MAH)

A method of extracting blood and mixing with ozone gas before reinfusing the blood into the patient; considered a systemic treatment

Indications: chronic infections (viral, bacterial, fungal), compliment to cancer treatment, cystitis, autoimmune disease, general immune system stimulation

Prolozone

A method of combining ozone injections with prolotherapy.

Indications: damaged ligaments, cartilage, and articular surfaces; degenerated discs, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, sports injuries, pelvic floor syndrome

With ozone therapy, we use oxygen with a third molecule to it – known as ozone or 03 – as a therapeutic tool to:

  • Promote healing
  • Destroy pathogens
  • Fight bacteria and fungal infections
  • Improve your immune system

A method of ozone delivery through rectally or vaginally, in order to treat the digestive tract or reproductive tract respectively

Indications: inflammatory bowel disease, fungal infections, bowel infections

Rectal or Vaginal Insufflation

A method of ozone delivery through rectally or vaginally, in order to treat the digestive tract or reproductive tract respectively

Indications: inflammatory bowel disease, fungal infections, bowel infections

Ozone Bagging

A method of applying ozone topically, using an enclosed limb bag

Indications: microvascular injury/gangrene, skin or bone infectio

Topical Ozone Gel

A method of applying ozone topically, using ozonated oil (generally olive oil), to skin ailments

Indications: fungal infections, wounds, eczema, shingles, acne, bites, toothaches

Additionally, ozone therapy can be combined with other intravenous therapies such as chelation, mega C vitamin infusions, and glutathione intravenous pushes. Common combinations include:

Chezone: major auto-hemotherapy plus chelation for the treatment of cardiovascular disease

Major auto-hemotherapy plus glutathione for the treatment of autoimmune diseases

Major auto-hemotherapy plus mega C drips for immune system regulation and detoxification
