Hydrogen Peroxide Drip
Hydrogen peroxide is naturally produced in the body in order to create an oxidative reaction that destroys harmful bacteria, viruses and fungi. Infusing hydrogen peroxide via IV is found to increase the oxidative enzyme activity of cells and assist in cell energy production. Major effects on the immune system include bolstered action against infections, increased oxygen production and cellular respiration. Hydrogen peroxide is produced by white blood cells and acts as a first line of defense against foreign substances. It also is required for production of thyroid and reproductive hormones and can improve the use of glucose in diabetics. The metabolic rate is increased during hydrogen peroxide infusions and the increased oxygen levels remain in the blood stream afterwards causing an increase in mental alertness and improved feeling of relaxation. An increase of 20-35% has also been noted in helpful T and B immune fighter cells.
Therapeutically hydrogen peroxide can be considered a universal treatment because it increases oxygen available to the tissues. This increase in oxygen is direct affect by how the hydrogen peroxide is processed in the body and indirect in that it stimulates an increase in oxygen manufacturing. Specifically the following conditions respond particularly well to hydrogen peroxide:
- Peripheral and cerebral vascular disease
- Cardiovascular concerns: angina and arrhythmia
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: asthma and emphysema
- Bacterial infections
- Persistent viral infections like EBV (mono), herpes, HIV
- Type II Diabetes
- Autoimmune conditions: rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis
- Other parasitic and fungal infections
Side Effects and Contradictions:
Because hydrogen peroxide acts in an oxidative manner it is possible for some side effects like a mild flu-like detox reaction to occur. Some people may also feel more anxiety or fatigue following IV treatment. Particular caution should be taken in patients with extreme anemia or thalassemia and during pregnancy. As well, while hydrogen peroxide can be helpful in autoimmune patients the stimulation of reactive oxygen intermediates and inflammatory factors should be monitored carefully in those with joint pains.
